Saturday morning dawned bright and sunny as Taylor enjoyed a long, luxurious stretch in a bed with the softest sheets she’d ever felt against her skin. What hotel was she in? Only five star hotel beds felt this good.

She drew in a deep breath and rubbed her eyes then turned her face away from the rays of sunlight streaming in through the curtains at the wide French windows. She rolled over in the bed and found herself staring into the onyx-black eyes of Dominic D'Angelo.

Jesus. How could she have forgotten?

With a gasp, she jerked up and clutched the sheet to her chest. “Dominic. I…I…”

“Good morning,” he said, his lips curling in obvious amusement at her confusion. “Did you sleep well?”

“Why…yes. Thank you.” She stared at him wide-eyed, not sure where the conversation was going.

“Very good,” he said, then lay back against the pillows and folded his arms behind his head. He looked totally relaxed, with not a care on his mind. “Today we will begin your training as my submissive.”

“Your…what?” Taylor frowned. It wasn’t that she’d never heard the word before. She was twenty-three after all and not totally naïve. But still, she wasn’t one hundred percent sure what it meant. And she had a feeling that the best thing to do was to find out exactly what was expected of her.

“My sub.” He reached out and brushed a strand of hair from off her cheek. “You know what that means, don’t you?”

“Uhm, sort of.” She was too embarrassed to admit her ignorance but she didn’t want to lie. “It’s somebody who does all kind of kinky things in bed?” She lowered her face and peered up at him from under her eyebrows. She hoped she hadn’t pissed him off with her question.

But when she saw his face there was no anger there. Instead, he gave her a sober look. “You’ve missed the point altogether, Taylor. Being a submissive is not simply engaging in an act, it’s adopting a whole new attitude. For many it’s a total change of lifestyle.” Then his brows fell. “And being kinky in bed is not a definition for being submissive.”

“Oh,” she said, suitably chastened. “Sorry.”
